Facilities of Qatar 2015 reviewed

Doha: H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar 2015 Organising Committee and Dr Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Director General, Qatar 2015 toured some of the facilities being made available across Doha for the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship.
The review was part of the final preparations to ensure that dignitaries, spectators and visitors all enjoy a seamless, memorable experience when the event begins next week.

The tour began at the Ritz-Carlton, Doha where the heads of the Qatar 2015 Organising Committee reviewed an operational plan for the partner hotels of the Championship.
The presentation included highlights of the accommodation arrangements that have been made for visiting dignitaries, athletes, International Handball Federation (IHF) and International Olympic Committee (IOC) officials, as well as facilities for international handball fans visiting Qatar for the tournament.
As part of the tour, the senior executives also visited a merchandising outlet at City Center to purchase a ticket to the Championship in addition to a variety of promotional items for the Championship. A run-through of the customer experience demonstrated how easily sports fans in Qatar can secure their tickets at the sales points in malls including Villaggio, Landmark, City Center and Al Khor as well as at the main entrance of each of the Championship three venues during the Championship.
Also, H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani and Dr Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari visited the Uniforms and Accreditation Centre, received passes and reviewed all the workforce preparations before proceeding to the Volunteer Centre located at the Qatar Sports Club, where they were briefed about the Volunteer Registration process and the number of volunteers that will be assisting during the Championship.
The tour completed with a visit to Duhail Handball Sports Hall andthe Lusail Multipurpose Hall was the last station, as they reviewed the venue readiness and supervised the test match between Qatar and Portugal.
