Doha, Qatar: Qatar Chamber launched on Saturday its new 2025-2030 strategy, focusing on resource sustainability and service development to keep pace with digital transformation and economic changes.
The strategy’s vision is to position Qatar as a global strategic hub for the private sector, making it the top choice for doing business, while its mission is to promote and support the Qatari private sector locally and globally, representing and defending its interests.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Chamber HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani emphasized that the strategy is built on six objectives, including: Developing the business environment, supporting, and encouraging SMEs and entrepreneurs, transforming the Chamber into a global hub for communication and influence, advancing into a digital economy, establishing the Chambers positive image by improving performance, and achieving financial sustainability.
To support SMEs, the strategy aims to establish a specialized department for feasibility and market studies, create an entrepreneurship development center in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and set up a dedicated body within the Chamber to oversee innovation and SMEs. Moreover, it includes developing an innovation index in collaboration with a specialized consultancy and launching a platform to explore investment opportunities, featuring government investment projects, international investment prospects, and funding-seeking ventures.
Through the strategy, the Chamber aims to develop a business environment that attracts local and foreign investments by helping the government in fostering the economy, reviewing business-related laws and regulations, reinforcing the Chambers role as a link between the government and the private sector, as well as promoting public-private partnerships.
As for the transition to a digital economy, the strategy focuses on digitizing all services and leveraging AI for daily operations within the Chamber. Further, it aims to establish a Qatari e-marketing platform that connects the Arab world with global markets, and provide a reliable gateway to business, services, and consultations.
Through this strategy, the Chamber aims to expand and organize its database and information, collaborate with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to audit data when issuing commercial records, create a directory to classify companies by their type of activity, publish both electronic and printed directories, and organize virtual exhibitions featuring local and international companies.
The Chamber's 2025-2030 strategy includes leveraging its global network to create the largest electronic marketing platform for the Arab private sector, like Alibaba and Amazon. It also proposes the establishment of a company by the Chamber to transform the platform into a commercial project that generates revenue for the Chamber.
It also includes reintroducing the idea of organizing an annual consultative meeting with HE the Prime Minister and ministers.
The strategy focuses on developing the skills and competencies of workers in the Qatari private sector and organizing monthly meetings with business owners. It further aims to support and promote women participation by activating the role of the Qatari Businesswomen's Forum. Additionally, it adopts programs to support companies' investments in training their employees and organizing field visits to companies and factories to identify challenges and propose solutions.
It also aims to expand the private sectors engagement in activities of the ICC-Qatar, attract international companies to the Qatari market, organize forums and meetings to enhance communication between the local and international business community.
The strategy outlined that, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber would collaborate with embassies and commercial attaches abroad to establish commercial representation offices at the new Chamber headquarters in Lusail City. This initiative aims to attract foreign investment to Qatar, improve the business environment, promote Qatar’s investments abroad, and advance the digital economy.
The strategy also aims to enhance the Chambers image by improving its performance. This includes employing skilled Qatari professionals, implementing a new strategy for the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA), expanding the Research and Studies Department with additional expertise, and strengthening the Exhibitions Department to organize exhibitions and conferences. Furthermore, it focuses on developing the Training Department and establishing new divisions to facilitate the strategy’s implementation.
