Doha: Qatar Airways expects to receive its first delivery of Boeing 777x aircraft in 2023, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker said on Wednesday on the sidelines of a Boeing presentation.
The airline is also considering an imminent purchase of a freighter aircraft and is mulling an "attractive proposition from Boeing", Al Baker added.
“Delivering 20 per cent lower fuel consumption and emissions than previous generation aircraft, Qatar Airways welcomes the Boeing 777X aircraft for a visit to DIA today ahead of its official introduction in the near future,” the airline said on Twitter.
“Featuring new carbon-fibre composite wings and engines, and natural laminar flow nacelles, Qatar Airways welcomed the latest generation Boeing 777X aircraft at DIA today as the world’s largest twin-engine jet landed in Qatar for the first time,” it added.
