Doha: CHI Al Shaqab 2013 yesterday signed a cooperation agreement with QF Radio to provide live coverage throughout the inaugural edition of the international equestrian competition, CHI Al Shaqab
Being the first of its kind in the region, CHI Al Shaqab 2013 will play host to an assortment of world-class show jumping, dressage and endurance events.
QF Radio, the official Radio of CHI Al Shaqab 2013 and voice of Qatar Foundation, will conduct on-the-spot interviews with riders from around the globe and provide real-time updates during the four-day competition in both the English and Arabic stations of the radio.
Fahad bin Saad Al Qahtani, AL Shaqab Director and CHI Al Shaqab President, expressed his gratitude to the station, saying: “CHI Al Shaqab 2013 is fortunate to have the support of QF Radio. As a growing network with a wide reaching audience, it helps to promote the QF values locally, regionally and internationally. It is an integral part of the QF family.”
Commenting on the signing, QF Radio Head Nasser Al Naimi said: “QF Radio aims to inform the community of major events in Qatar and the world in fields such as education, science, community development, and sports. CHI Al Shaqab 2013 is the perfect opportunityto support an event that is not only inline with this vision, but also reflects Qatar’s rich equestrian culture.”

In addition to the equestrian events, a spectator plaza will be open to all members of the public. The enormous 17,000 square metrezone will boast an array of family-orientated activities, including a fashion exhibition and trade market, a dedicated ‘kids zone’, an international food court, and a multitude of cultural presentations and events.
The highly anticipated CHI Al Shaqab 2013 will be held under the patronage of H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, Al Shaqab Chairperson, and H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Al Shaqab Vice Chairperson. It is set to take place from March 27 to 30 at Al Shaqab’s state-of-the-art facilities at Qatar Foundation.
