Geneva: The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) confirmed that Israeli occupation forces are deliberately using excessive force in the most densely populated areas of the Gaza Strip.

The organization's spokesperson Kazem Abu Khalaf, said in a statement today that at least 183 children, in addition to a large number of women, were killed in full view of the international community during the recent terrifying Israeli raids that surprised everyone, especially since the displaced were safe in tents.

He pointed out that the increasing number of civilian casualties is explained by the element of surprise, the breach of the ceasefire agreement, and the blatant and shameful violation of international law.

Abu Khalaf explained that the suspension of aid constitutes a clear violation of international law, considering the international community's silence and double standards, it is only natural that what is seen in the Gaza Strip will happen.

He stressed the need to halt hostilities and military violations so that UNICEF can easily develop and implement relief plans to meet the needs of the population of the Gaza Strip.

It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation resumed its aggression on the Gaza Strip at dawn last Tuesday, after a two-month pause under a ceasefire agreement that came into effect on January 19. However, the occupation has violated the terms of the ceasefire throughout the two months, continuing its bombing of various areas in the Gaza Strip, causing casualties and injuries. It has also refused to implement the humanitarian protocol, and has tightened its stifling blockade on the Strip, which is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy.
