Doha: Mowasalat has launched a Karwa taxi app, which is free to download for both IOS and Android devices.
You can request a ride with a single click and get picked up by the nearest taxi in the shortest period. Make a booking for future or for immediate pickup. You can rate your trips, including driver, vehicle, and overall service. Each service provider’s performance is linked to trips ratings.
Currently they are operating around 4,000 taxis with 4 franchise operators - Al Million Trading, Alijarah Holding, Profit trading & Ibnajayan - and have plans to go up tp 7,000 taxis. They have given taxi license to four more operators to increase growth in taxi fleet & services.

For his part, Manager Taxi Management office Ali Emadi – who is managing the four franchise operators said that " Taxi Management office is established to partner with franchise operators working with the objective to set highest taxi standards and all related regulatory measures besides fulfilling mutual obligations to ensure deploy more taxis on the road while maintaining the taxi standards, look and feel, presence and culture and its diverse taxi services in the country to assure total value management & quality assurance in service".
He further added that "we have four operators Al Million Trading, Alijarah Holding, Profit trading & Ibnajayan currently operating. We have plans to reach 9000 taxis by 2022. We have quality control & inspection, CRM, franchise administration and Vehicle & driver accreditation to effectively manage taxi services of Mowasalat-Karwa.
Karwa solutions was established under Mowasalat with the purpose and objective to provide integrated technological solutions and upgrades for the transport industry. As a primary objective, Karwa solutions started off with the elimination and plugging of repetition of IT & Human resources among all Karwa taxi operators, to have a single call center for taxi services to unify compliant management and lost & found especially with the new tamper proof meters which have touch screen device under auto dispatch system. Apart from this, giving smart solutions to enhance the scope and features of the ticketless, cash less Karwa smartcard used for travelling on public buses.
