Doha: Qatar Handball Association has completed preparations for the 2013 IHF Super Globe which begins in Doha today at Gharaffa Indoor Hall.
Five teams have arrived yesterday, including FC Barcelona (Spain), Sydney University (Australia), Taubate (Brazil), Etoile Sportive du Sahel (Tunisia) and HSV Hamburg (Germany).
The draw of the 2013 edition was held in Sarajevo on July 27 on the fringes of the Men’s Junior World Championship.
In group A, European Champions League winner HSV Hamburg faces tournament host Al Sadd (Qatar), El Jeish (Qatar, wild card team) and Sydney University (Oceania representative).
Al Sadd as the organiser had the right to choose its group and opted for Group A.
In group B, FC Barcelona (replacement for defending champion Atletico Madrid) plays against Etoile Sportive du Sahel (winner of the African continental club competition), Al Rayyan (Qatar, Asian club champion) and Taubate (Pan-American club champion). QNA
