Doha: Customs authorities at Hamad International Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle Lyrica pills into Qatar.
The contraband was seized from a passenger after drawing suspicion from authorities. Customs officers inspected the passenger's luggage and found a total of 1,777 lyrica pills, which were hidden inside two paintings.
Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
