Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has reshuffled the council of ministers. Some of the ministries are merged.
The Foreign Minister has been replaced with H E Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman. The Energy and Finance portfolios were left unchanged.
The Sports and Culture ministries were merged together.
The former Foreign Minister is the new Minister of State for Defense Affairs.
The Emir issued today the Emiri Decree N0 1 0f 2016, amending the formation of the Council of Ministers.
The Emiri Decree appointed:
1) HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah as Minister of State for Defense Affairs and member of the Council of Ministers,
2) HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdurrahman Al-Thani as Foreign Minister,
3) HE Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali as Minister of Culture and Sports,
4) HE Dr Issa Bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi as Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs,
5) HE Jassim bin Saif Al Sulati as Minister of Transport and Communications,
6) HE Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi as Minister of Municipality and Environment,
7) HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari as Minister of Public Health.
The Emiri Decree abolishes any provision contrary to the provisions of this Decree.
The Emiri Decree is effective from the date of its issue and is to be published in the Official Gazette.
