DOHA: Global automotive brands will reveal their latest models at Qatar Motor Show 2016 which opens tomorrow at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). Organised by Elan and Fira Barcelona, the five-day show will offer automotive enthusiasts and visitors regional and local reveals from global brands.
Over 40 exhibitors are taking part, including Audi, BMW, Bosch, Cadillac, Castrol, Chrysler, Continental, Dodge, Ducati, Ferrari, Ford, GMC, Harley Davidson (NBK), Infinity, Jaguar, Jeep, KTM, Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati, Maxus, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Piaggio, Porsche, RAM, Renault, Rolls Royce, Sand X, Titanium, Toyota, Triumph, VW and Ziebart.
There will be on-site show competitions to win gifts and experiences, like hotel treats at Marriot Marquis and show goodies, F1 simulator rides on the state-of-the-art Evotek Technology and appearances from internationally acclaimed guests.
Special guests include automotive designer Horacio Pagani, Automotive Entrepreneur and Founder and CEO, Pagani Automobili, who will share his industry insights and experiences as the founder and creative force behind the company responsible for the award-winning Zonda and Huayra.
Other celebrities, such as Qatari professional racers, will be announced for meet-and-greet appearances for visitors.
New this year is an interactive and experiential outdoor fan zone for visitors of all ages. Outside DECC there will be activities, including 4x4 off-road driving demonstrations by Nissan, motorbike stunts and displays by Red Bull, and test drive experiences throughout the show days. The Ministry of Interior’s Traffic Department will offer child-friendly activities at its stand. Show partners Red Bull will host the opening competition of the Red Bull Car Park Drifting Championship 2016 taking place at the Corniche on Friday. Visitors who are not able to attend the event on the Corniche can watch at DECC, where it will be live-streamed in the outdoor fan zone. During the five-day event, there will be daily parades of unique cars that will travel around West Bay. The show is free but pre-registration via www.qatarmotorshow.gov.qa is recommended to gain fast-track entry.
