Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronised Sunday the closing ceremony of the HH the Amir Sword Equestrian Festival 2025, held at Al Uqdah Equestrian Complex.
The closing ceremony was attended by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Shura Council Speaker HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and Ministers. Also present were horse owners and an audience of equestrian sports fans.
HH the Amir handed the golden sword to HE Sheikh Hamad bin Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, representing Al Shaqab Racing, for the victory of the horse Al Ghadeer in the eighth 2400m round of Arabian purebreds (Grade 1, Category 1) (the third round of the Triple Crown).
HH the Amir handed over His Highnesss Award for Arabian Thoroughbreds to Ali Al Ali, representing Godolphin, after the horse Rebels Romance secured the title of the seventh 2400m round for Arabian Thoroughbreds (Grade 1, Category 1).
His Highness handed over the silver sword to Nasser Abdullah Al Misnad for the victory of the colt Bianca De Ghazal in the sixth 2100m round of Arabian purebreds (4 years old only), (Grade 1), and the Shalfa to Mohammed Hamad Al Attiyah, representing Al-Jeryan Stud, after colt Aafoor ended first in the fifth 2100m round for purebreds (Grade 2).
His Highness also crowned the top four finishers in the Al Sabiq heritage race - Mohammed Kumaan Al Hajri, Nasser Mohammed Al Shahwani, Omar Ahmed Al Khayarin, and Mohammed Saad Al Hajri.
HH the Amir presented the prizes to the winners of the Grand Prize of the HH the Amir Sword (Show Jumping category). The winners were Germany's Janne Friederike Meyer, Saudi Khalid Al Mubti and French Antoine Ermann.
His Highness presented the awards to the winners of the first places in the HH the Amir Sword (Dressage category) who were Jassim Mohammed Al Kuwari, Jessica Megan, and Asma Yasser.
